As a registered clinical counsellor with specialized training in youth and family therapy, I understand that every child’s journey is unique. My approach combines evidence-based therapeutic techniques with mindful, compassionate care.

Frequently Asked

Many teens initially resist counselling because they expect judgment or lectures. I focus on creating a safe, non-judgmental space where teens feel heard and empowered. My approach is collaborative, not directive, which helps even reluctant teens feel comfortable opening up.
 

While I prioritize your confidentiality, I believe parents play a crucial role in the healing of their children/teens. We’ll discuss how you can best support your teen, and I may suggest family sessions when appropriate. I’ll also provide guidance on communication strategies.

Standard sessions are 50 minutes, though I also offer extended 90-minute sessions if you feel you’d benefit from more time. Most clients begin with weekly or biweekly sessions, but frequency can be adjusted based on your needs and comfort.

My approach is integrative and client-centered, drawing primarily from evidence-based practices like Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT), and trauma-informed care. I tailor our work to meet your unique goals, personality, and pace.

Progress looks different for everyone, but common signs include improved mood, better communication at home, increased self-awareness, and developing healthy coping strategies. We’ll regularly check in about goals and progress together.

Yes, with important exceptions. I maintain strict confidentiality unless there are concerns about your teen’s safety or the safety of others. I’ll always discuss these boundaries clearly with both you and your teen from the start.

Yes! I offer both in-person and secure virtual sessions to support flexibility and accessibility. Whether you prefer to meet from the comfort of your home or face-to-face, we can find what works best for you.
